Empirical Science demands proof for assertions about physical reality but as any
trial lawyer knows, proof is what convinces a jury. In the world of Empirical
Science, proof for an assertion is what the consensus agrees is proof.
The questions of force and motion in physical reality are not questions that lead
to ready proof. No one can prove gravity is a product of mass.
Although the questions of force and motion are the most important questions dealing
with the nature of physical reality, Empirical Science treats them as unimportant
because Empirical Science, being a process of proof, values physical reality only
in so far is it is subject to its processes of proof.
With questions of force and motion unimportant, Empirical Science accepts non
answers for questions about gravity, it is somehow sourced in a quality of matter
called mass and doesnt propose answers for the very important questions
about what keeps the Earth turning on its axis or what causes the Earth and the
other planets to orbit the sun. When it comes to questions of force, Empirical
Science creates particles, protons, neutrons, electrons, gravitons, assigns the
particles the qualities of the energy sought to be explained and then mindlessly
states that the energy is caused by the particles. When dealing with the causes
of motion, Empirical Science claims motion is a product of historical forces that
are no longer present, that it does not take a current force to create current
motion.
Reality Theory demands that we look at physical reality as a whole and come up
with the best answers we can about its operations. Because we can never prove
our answers, we have to proof them by their consistency with answers for all other
aspects of physical reality. The search, in Sir Francis Bacons view, is
for an explanation of the hidden causes of motion using, in the view of William
of Occam, the fewest number of assumptions.
Empirical Science ignores this search.
Reality Theory demands it.
If you are satisfied with a science that does not deal with the mechanics of force
and motion, then by all means worship at the alter of Empirical Science. If you
want to know how the universe operates, who we are and why it is that we can perceive
both the universe and ourselves perceiving the universe, focus your thinking on
reality.
